The new Triple J lineup for 2020

Triple J already announcedSally Coleman and Erica Mallet as the replacement for Breakfast.Stapleton and Harvey are joining Nova 91.9 in Adelaide in 2020.

Smith has been a Triple J regular for over a year, filling in on Mornings and Lunch. She’s been in the Breakfast slot since Harvey and Stapleton’s departure, with Coleman and Mallet’s roles not coming into effect till 2020.

Smith said: “I’m so unbelievably excited to spend each weekday flexing my music muscle and diving a little deeper into the tunes you’re hearing on Triple J, plus the stories from the artists behind them. Mornings is a music lover’s haven, and it’s an honour to follow in the footsteps of two of my broadcast heroes Linda Marigliano and Zan Rowe.”

Woodhead is a Darwin-bred Torres Strait Islander who completed a stint on Triple J Breakfast during NAIDOC Week earlier this year. He began performing stand-up at 16 years old, and has featured in ABC’s Black Comedy, Get Krack!n and Thalu.

Woodhead said: “‘I’m looking forward to joining the Triple J fam, spinning the best tunes and playing ‘Treaty’ by Yothu Yindi at every possible opportunity.”

Dias filled in for Triple J Hack during 2019 and currently hosts Hack’s The Friday Shakeup. She previously spent three years as a reporter for ABC Darwin, and was a finalist for 2019 Walkley Young Journalist of the Year.

Dias said: “When I was a teenager, I’d write cheesy lines in my diary about how obsessed I was with Triple J and wanting to be on the station. I’ve grown up with Hack. It’s guided me through life, taught me what I should know about the world, and in many ways made me the person I am today. So, you can imagine how proud and excited I am to be taking over the only show in Australia which always puts young people at the front and centre of every conversation.”

Mills, who will be stepping in to replace Coleman and Mallet, has a background in community radio and has filled in for Triple J Mornings and Lunch. He’s also the host of podcast God Is Dead, and 10’s The Bachelor Unpacked.

The new lineup will come into effect as of January.

Marigliano将在今年年底辞职fter ten years with Triple J, initially on Lunch and Drive with Scott Dools. From 2012, she helped create the format for new release program Good Nights, which she hosts before switching to Mornings in 2018.

She developed and hosted the Inspired podcast series and has been onset for broadcasts from Splendour in the Grass, One Night Stand and Hottest 100 countdowns. She’s also a presenter for ABC TV, including hosting What is Music and The Set. She will continue to be a part of ABC TV in 2020.

Marigliano said: “I feel overwhelmed with joy and genuine love for this station that has been my family for so many years. It’s more than music, it’s a real connection with the people around us. It’s an identity that we are lucky enough to be a part of with every single show, with every record that excites us and with every listener that calls up, shares stories and makes me laugh like a maniac because they feel like my best friend. Thank you for having me. It’s been f**king beautiful.”

Fricker has been with Triple J for five years, initially as a solo presenter before teaming up with Kyran Wheatley for Weekend Arvos and then moving to Triple J Lunch. She’s leaving the broadcaster to focus on her career as a comedian.

Fricker said: “I’m honoured to have spent the last five years talking absolute garbage with some of my best friends, favourite artists, and the greatest listeners in the world. It breaks my heart to leave, but I will be forever grateful for the chance to be a (small) part of such an iconic institution. To everyone who’s tuned in, texted or just enjoyed my general dickheadedry: thank you.”
